Today is Earth Day and we present another image in a series celebrating people’s interaction with nature. In a space like Sachsenhausen visitors encounter material evidence of human capacity for error and horror. Such content mediates our perception. The camp grounds appear still, empty, sterile, dead. Over the course of several days Giada and I spent 50+ hours inside. Gearing up for another action or while processing the emotional aftermath of one, we often paused to sit and breathe and observe: butterflies & bugs spellbound by flowers, wind conducting tree branch symphonies,  birds & bunnies en route with their errands, clouds moving over patches of grass, life reasserting itself quietly, fiercely, forever. Thus, yet another LIEBEaction came to be…
